The end of What?

All the festivals are over and now I'm concentrating on putting back on the weight that I lost and seeing if I can get into uni. Wednesday saw the start of the What is Music? nights with that one being particularly metal, complete with the black metal DJ in between sets. Not many experimental music types there. I actually thought nothing on the night stood out too much. Kevin Drumm was good but he only played for 10 minutes. I've seen Rev Kris Hades enough to know his show, actually wouldn't mind seeing it again but in a smaller venue where I can hear the detail. Dead C were nice but they sounded better the night before. SunO))) + Oren Ambarchi + Kevin Drumm... lots of noise in the beginning then the guitarists came out. They were just starting to warm up when it looked like O'Malley lost power and pushed his stacks over then exited stage left. Noise throughout with various members coming on and off stage. They finally got into some riffing. I liked about 5 minutes when they got pretty bass heavy and towards the end but the music didn't really go through me like the night before. On Thursday Brendan Walls really hit me physically but not really on any other levels. Brendan can be a bit funny sometimes, sometimes crap sometimes really really good. Passenger and Rizilli were pretty funny although the screaming thing has been done to death a bit. Sir Richard Bishop was nice although he didn't sing. I actually liked one or two songs of Black Dice's primitive percussion but they couldn't sustain a whole set. Pansonic were the final act. Just as they hit a peak they had technical troubles as well. Kind of killed it a bit. Funny that I never was totally enthralled by anything this festival except maybe the last half of SunnO)) at the Onathon. I really wanted to see OOIOO who I heard were great so I guess I'll have to trawl the web for a video to suffice. Managed to give a stack of cds to Oren Ambarchi, Stephen O'Malley, Kevin Drumm and Rev Kris Hades took my last Antipan because he's fascinated with triangles. The last 3 left in a cab for a hotel room to continue drinking it seemed at 3am in the morning..I headed home.
