Blurr..
Everything's getting a bit mixed up here, day/night. Tuesday was the last day of the conference and at least there was an interesting talk on sound waves. There was talk of a Sound Science degree being set up at UDK in Berlin. I might look into it.
The club featured some live AV which wasn't that intersting. In the main room there was some opera singer + effects guy from Korea which got a bit kooky. Next up was Maja Ratkje and HC Gilje from Norway who were futzed around with her voice for a bit but only really let go when they let the noise take over towards the end. Then was another guy from Norway (it's becoming common) called Single Unit who did a one man metal show with guitar and laptop and he pretty much pulled it off. There was a noisy but not that interesting duo with a guy from Jazzkammer called Golden Serenade. To finish it off there was a 2 guys on electronics and girl on cello drone outfit who played close to 1 1/2 hours which chilled me out a bit. Ended up at White Trash again with my Polish friends for a drink then back to the hostel at about 4:30. Woke up at about 4 in the afternoon..where did all the time go?
Spent the late afternoon/ early evening finding a laundromat and doing my washing. Then falafel and a date finger again for dinner and off to the club. Tonight was the first evening of the Placard headphone festival where you get a pair of wireless headphones to listen to the performers which was mostly noisey/droney shit, a couple of good ones. Maybe the idea could work in Sydney. In the main room was some boring electronics lady, a wannabee Radiohead with strings and a computer metal band called Kill from guess where? They featured members of Jazzkammer and the Single Unit guy on laptop with an electronic drummer and 6 and 8 string guitarists + growling. They got kind of good although not the most melodic, kind of like the real life version of the computer stuff that Lass Marhaug and Kevin Drumm have been putting out. Back here at the hostel after a wander at 5 am.
