Well it doesn't feel any different at the moment. I think this year might be a bit more serious. Didn't make it to Times Square last night, just up to 14th st. New York started to feel like Sydney with all the drunk idiots. I went to the late show of John Zorn, Mike Patton & Ikue Mori at the Knitting Factory for the princely sum of $35. Considering it was New Years and all but still, pretty darn steep! They all screamed pretty much on their respective instruments (sax, voice, laptop). Ikue Mori actually fitted in with the people she was playing with this time! All pretty short songs 'cept Zorn sat out a few for some reason. Similar sound to their quite pricey CD as well if yr so inclined. Worth the effort me thinks.. then the countdown.. etc. Jim Thirlwell aka Foetus was on the decks playing disco. Trans Am did a free performance at about 1:15. They played some of their better songs, the one with the vocoder rocked the most (sorry don't know the name). ..now to make something of this year..
