Noisy..
Ahh, saw Colin Potter again on Sunday at the Mercury Lounge along with a whole 12 payers. It was a nice set again and the beats were better this time but the other nights performance was really the one to catch to space out. Campbell Kneale aka Birchville Cat Motel from New Zealand was in town for his first American tour. Last night he played with Lee Ranaldo from some band you probably wouldn't have heard of ;) It was really loud and noisy! Lots of electronic bagpipes. Apparently the sets he did on my radio show (formerly?) called Spitting Bits along with AM and Richard Francis have been released as a double CDR, unfortunately he didn't have any.. ended up giving him an Antipan.
Being the end of the year I've made a top ten, it's close enough.
1. Jason Kahn - Mirimar
2. Joanna Newsom - The Milk-Eyed Mender
3. Charalambides - Joy Shapes
4. Cobra Killer - 76-77
5. Pan Sonic - Kesto
6. White Magic - Through the Sun Door
7. Corrupted - Se Hace Por Los Suenos Asesinos
8. Matt Valentine & Erika Elder - Ragas & Blues
9. Esoteric - Subconscious Dissolution into the Continuum
10. Toho Sara - Hourouurin
