Time to make a Reservation

Friday I saw nmperign (Bhob Rainey and Greg Kelley) who pretty nice from what I heard (I got there a bit late). Jim O'Rourke and band were up next who did some floaty pieces although it got kind of predictable towards the end. Damon and Naomi were the headlines with Kurihara of Ghost on electric guitar. Greg and Bhob also joined for some songs. The best song was Tanka from the album they did with Ghost with everyone on stage, perfect.
Saturday Ryoji Ikeda was performing an audio/video piece at the Eyebeam gallery but being New York you had to make a reservation or have a ticket so I waited in the line only to be told after the person before me went in that it was sold out. I should have learned my lesson by now. Apparently his installation at JFK has been cancelled as well due to crowd violence? To make matters worse I found out today that White Magic played that same night around the corner from where I'm staying in an obscure little place.
Last night I went to some dance event which I thought was going to have Merideth Monk singing. I must have got mixed up because apparently the live performance with the Merce Cunningham dance troupe is tommorow somewhere and this was a dance tribute to her music, but I don't really feel like shelling out another $20 for that. I can't say I liked the modern dance much, most of it was too Western and stiff and pointless. The one where they had the dancers dancing with the 2 people in electric wheelchairs was amusing though, it was about the end of the world!
