Two steps forward one step back

Well I finally arived. The whole trip took about 24 hours to get to the hostel. Ended up having to catch the subway there last night and I can verify that there are some shady chracters on it. Don't look anyone in the eye!
This country seems pretty polarized at the moment. Probably what Australia is becoming more like, especially now that John Howard is in for another 3 years the gap has now become glaringly apparent to 'the left'.
Raisen bagel for breafast then tried to find my way to Central Park and what's been the story of today I got lost. I ended up in the black area above. Had a bite to eat at a vegetarian 'roots food' place served by a Jamaican. Eventually got to Central Park walked down a few blocks then caught the subway to check out Other Music. They have a pretty good selection except that I had most of the good CDs or a copy on MP3. There were a couple of intersting looking ones, the new Michael J Schumacher and a No Neck Blues compilation. I might try and catch a NNCK performance if I here about one. Also checked out Downtown music which was a bit more jazz. Got a mobile number then found this internet cafe. For each trip I went a few blocks in the opposite direction of where of I was supposed to go so I've walked about twice the distance today I need to.
I think there's a choice of Sun0))) or The Fall concerts tonight as far as music goes. Le Tigre instore appearance tommorow as well.
